Using the Ryobi One+ 5Ah battery the Ryobi Orbital Sander is capable of an incredible 40 minutes of continuous run time making this a match for all but the toughest sanding jobs.

One of the biggest features of the Ryobi ONE+ Orbital Sander is the 20K oscillations per minute output that the sander is capable of. The large 2.4mm orbit diameter really does most of the hard work for you.

The oscillating function not only helps remove material from the surface it also loosens dust already collected on the sanding pad – this increases the endurance of the pads as you won’t need to stop and physically clean the pad as often. The dual motors also provide a scratch free finish for your projects especially when paired with finer grade sanding disks.

Ryobi sells a sanding accessory kit designed especially for this orbital sander and they work well together. 3rd party sanding disk are also available online.

The Sander features a hook and loop fastening system for the sanding pads making changing to different grades of paper or replacing worn out pads quick and easy. This helps to reduce downtime, speeding up your projects.

The Ryobi Orbital Sander features and integrated dust collector and bag that can be attached to a larger vac should you be sanding particularly fine surfaces such as wood or plasterboard. The bag can also be changed on the fly and is easy to empty, clean and replace.

Being part of the One+ range means that you can swap in batteries from Ryobi’s other power tools such as your Combi Drill (Check out our Combi Drill Group Review) allowing for extended running time.

We have written up an extensive overview guide to the whole Ryobi One+ Battery Range for your reference.

We think that the Ryobi Orbital Sander is a great quality piece of kit that provides a scratch free finish to your projects. When paired with a large capacity 4 or 5Ah battery this sander really excels.

About Mike Jones 363 Articles
I have been a keen DIY enthusiast for over 15 years, I’m constantly tinkering in my garage, taking things apart and building things. Along the way, I seem to have acquired a bit of a tool collection, as you do. The issue I found was that the information online when it comes to finding out what you need to know when buying new tools was somewhat limited. I didn’t necessarily need to know which tool to buy, but more what was important when making that buying decision. Also, a bit like a child in a sweet shop when I see new tools and things I can do with them I find it hard to resist. I started this blog back in 2017 to try and put together some buying guides, not really reviews but more what you may want to know before going and deciding on a new tool. I’m also a keen gardener and if there is a tool or gadget that helps me in the garden I’m going to let you know. I hope these musings and buyers guides are of use to you in some way. All the best, Mike.
